    Reading Rock Contributes to Greenarama Show

    Reading Rock's retaining wall and paver products were featured on each of the seven homes featured in the city's first Greenarama home show in Columbia Tusculum.  The event was held in June with home prices ranging from $400,000 to more than $500,000.  Each home is pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.  Once the homes are LEED certified, each of the Greenarama home buyers will save in excess of $100,000 over the lifetime of the tax abatement.  All seven homes featured in Greenarama have been sold.  Learn more online.

    Reading Rock Contributes to North Chicago's First Green Home

    Reading Rock donated HydraStone, a permeable paver, to help pave the driveway at North Chicago's first green, energy-efficient home.  The estimated $200K cost of construction was supported by a $117K grant and $86K in in-kind donations - architectural drawings, building materials, landscaping - from approximately 40 companies like Reading Rock.  Read more.

    Pergolas Are Hot Trend in Outdoor Shelter

    The pergola or pergola-inspired porch has become the shelter of choice.  "People ask for pergolas when they have large open spaces and want to keep that sense of openness as opposed to screened-in rooms.  They want them where they have a space but are looking for some shade and a way to incorporate landscaping with a more natural feel," said Todd Walters of Pendery Construction in Loveland, Ohio.
